Introducing Bump

birth Baby 2

Welcome to the world!

Hello my lovelies. I am soooooooo pleased and excited to announce the birth of Bump. Mummy is so utterly in love. I cannot believe that I have produced him and that he was this size inside of me {ouch!}.

The birth lowdown

This will be a very short post {full birth story to follow} in between feeds. However, I wanted to give you all a quick update. So here is a quick low down of what happened:

  • We had My Pregnancy Journal Week 41 already to be published on Thursday evening, talking about preparing for inducement which was booked for Saturday;
  • I had a third sweep on Thursday afternoon. By the time I got home I could tell something was happening;
  • I called W and he finished up work {huge hello to his work colleagues who have been so fantastic and supportive};
  • We arrived at the hospital at about  7pm and met our wonderful midwives (hello to them too);
  • To build up the suspense for my birth story post {hehe!} , all I will say at this stage is that things didn’t quite go to plan and so Bump arrived at just before 6am on Friday morning via an emergency Caesarean section; and
  • We had an extended stay in hospital but we are now finally home.

Birth thank you’s

Thank you to all of you who have helped us over the last couple of days.

The staff at the hospital were truly world class. They are the unsung heroes in child birth. A huge credit to our fantastic NHS.

Thank you for all your kind words and for being so lovely.  Everyone has played a part. Whether that be making sure we had provisions at home when we returned from hospital {you know who you are!}, Instagram messages of congratulations or Tweets offering us support over the next couple of days {thanks Lisa :-)}. It has been overwhelming. You have all been great, so thank you from the three of us.

For now I will leave you with some pictures of Bump. I will post some more in the coming days. We have lots of exciting things planned for BOAM now that Bump is here so please keep an eye out on the website, my Instagram feed, Twitter and Facebook pages.
